SUNDAY LESSON RECAP
July 3rd: "A Time of Revolution”
Rev. Myra McFadden
Last Sunday, we began a five-week “Music to Live By” series. This week focused on the 1960’s, during which time our country underwent a true revolution of consciousness. The music of this time embraced humanity with compassion and hope. As our country went through a huge civil rights movement that called for changes in our laws and in our ways of being, activism helped people to see and speak to the injustices of hatred and racism. Finding ourselves in a similar state of chaos in our country today, we can be encouraged by remembering the words and the wisdom of those who stood for truth, love, and peace back then. We can allow the inspiration of this music to touch our souls today – and move us to do all we can to make our country a better place.
